April Monthly Review

A look back at the past month.

  • Zoom branding: I’ve been working on a new, simplified design for the K-State Zoom branding page, linking to a page in the CMS that will replace almost all the existing content,
  • Monthly DCM/IT Webteam meeting: Met Adam, the new K-State director of project management, and talked about the upcoming K-State Today project.
  • DSLR as a webcam: I tried setting up my Canon SL1 as a webcam. It works and looks much better than my MacBook camera, but I would need to buy a few things in order for it to be more usable on a regular basis.
  • Link blogging: Released some updates to my blog that will improve the ability to post links.
  • Working on my website: Continued working on my website, designing and building.
  • Vaccine: My wife and I got our second Covid vaccine. My wife had a sore arm, while I had pretty much all of the other side effects. It really wasn’t that bad though, I just didn’t want to move around much for the day after.
  • Kids’ birthdays: Both my kids celebrated birthdays this month. Last year we were completely isolated at home and nothing was open. This year we were able to safely go to the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center and the Topeka Zoo.
  • Walking: I’ve been trying to get back into my 2+ walks per day habit again. I got a little bit lazy with my walking during this past winter.
  • Misc.:
    • My church celebrated its third birthday
    • We got a snow day, which is pretty unusual for April
    • I won my fantasy hockey championship for my second year in a row
