Weeknotes 07.26–08.01

Notes from my week.

  • I spent some time learning Gatsby while working on a little side project.
  • I attended a remote work listening session where people could voice their opinions about remote work. It sounds like there is more interest in my department than I originally thought. K-State also announced this week that they are re-instating the mask policy for all campus buildings, which makes remote work look even more attractive going forward.
  • We finished our Emotionally Healthy Discipleship book study with a (healthy) salad bar party. I still need to finish the book though.
  • I celebrated my birthday. We didn’t do anything big, which was fine with me after having a fairly stressful couple of weeks. We met up with some friends at the Flint Hills Discovery Center in the morning, and I watched a movie with the kids. I grilled a steak for dinner and was able to play video games for a bit.
  • We took a mini getaway to Hutchinson, Kansas for the weekend to continue celebrating my birthday. We went to the Cosmosphere, my first time there since I was a kid. We also did the Kansas Underground Salt Museum, which was more fun and interesting than I expected. We ended the weekend with a stop at the Rolling Hills Zoo.
